in Quebec&#8217;s Expropriation Act that allows public bodies to appropriate an immovable or a dismemberment of the right of ownership in an immovable for public utility The object of expropriation may also be a dismemberment of the right of ownership attached to it, such as a servitude (of passage, construction, sewer, aqueduct, etc.).<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f498055 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"f498055\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The expropriating body&#8217;s first obligation is to adopt a resolution, decree or by-law in order to proceed with expropriation. The expropriator must also submit a detailed plan of the expropriated property. If there are tenants, he must also inform them in the manner stipulated by law. Expropriation compensation is made up of &#8220;main compensation&#8221; and &#8220;accessory compensation&#8221;.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-9aa1e28 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"9aa1e28\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The main indemnity corresponds to the value of the expropriated property. This value of the expropriated property is established according to the value to the owner (special value to the expropriated).
